For my vinyl project, I wanted to have a poster related to fishing that I could hang up in my room. After saving some fishing clip art and a quote in my drive, I got to work in Illustrator by converting the images to vector files and sizing them so that all of the pictures could fit into my 11.5" x 11.5" frame. I then saved them onto a flash drive and brought it down to the vinyl cutter computer and opening each Illustrator file. I then printed each image one by one with each of their respective colors by going into Cutting Master 2 and hitting Cut/Plot. I would then change the color of the vinyl and line it up. Then I would hit F1 Force and then enter. Then I would hit print. The cutter would go to work and after it was done I would cut out my print and use the dental tool to pick out the pieces of vinyl that I didn't need. After that, I would lay application tape over each image and peel it off of the paper and lay it down on my poster. Using the squeegee, I would push the images down on the poster and pull the application tape off. Once I got each image on, I had a finished poster!

In the beginning of the vinyl project, I didn't think that I would make anything that I thought was cool. As I got farther into the project I realized what I wanted to make and I got kind of excited about it. One major thing that I learned was how to use the vinyl cutter and the applications used to run the machine. I also learned and got very proficient at using the dental tools, the squeegee, and the application tape. All in all, making my fishing poster was much more fun than I expected and I am very excited to use the vinyl cutter again.
